Power Modules are designed for drives without energy recovery into the supply system. Generated energy produced during braking is converted to heat using braking resistors. The Power Module in chassis format is designed for connection to grounded TN/TT and non-grounded IT systems. It comprises a line rectifier, a DC link, and an inverter to supply the motor. The Power Modules are controlled by the CU310‑2 Control Unit that can be integrated into the Power Module. The Power Modules can also be connected directly via DRIVE-CLiQ to a separate CU320-2 or SIMOTION D4x5-2 Control Unit or CX32-2 control extension. For the DRIVE-CLiQ port, a dust protection sealing plug is available. SINAMICS – the seamless drive family for every application area.
